I predict a damaging backlash if social conservatives come down hard on homosexuality.

Defining marriage as a union between a man and woman is not coming down hard on homosexuals. I can see some of the rhetoric on this thread is too harsh, but this is clearly a winning issue if presented in a postive way.

This is clearly a winning issue if presented in a postive way.

The fact that centrist Dems have stood with this definition proves it is not divisive.

I have the feeling that if we notice harsh rhetoric in here on FR, then there is likely to be an image problem out there.
