Personally, I view suicide as cowardly and selfish, but I guess there are many weak individuals that cannot handle what life gives them, including the loss of face, and they believe that to die is better, regardless of what their loved ones may think.

you obviously have never thought deeper than the front of your nose on this subject. can you willfully mutilate yourself? even at your "bravest"? you know little of what cowards are then. a coward will not take a stance because he fears for his own safety first. again i reitirate, this is about giving of self for others. cowards hold themselves above others, thus would not sacrifice themselves to save the name of the ones they love. this is not "face" again, this is an entire name! "face" is personal, and only relates to the indivual. what you fail to grasp despite my explanations is that this is for the good of others, not self.
