Looks like the poll on the memo website is getting nailed by the DUmmies. Maybe we should do a "poll freep" thread, or add it to the title here?

I hope Jrob reads his signatures carefully before he submits. The DU Pro-Iraqui 5th column has been at work on it.

WASHINGTON (Talon News) -- The Free Republic Network launched a website on Monday that will focus on the scandal surrounding the Senate Intelligence Committee memo which detailed a Democrat plan to use classified information to defeat President Bush in 2004.
The website, www.intelmemo.com, will provide news, analysis, and research material about the memo written by a staffer for Intelligence Committee Vice Chairman Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D-WV). The memo scandal was first revealed by nationally syndicated radio talk show host Sean Hannity.
FRN Executive Director Robert Hahn called for Rockefeller's immediate resignation in a written statement, saying, "As ranking Democratic member of the Intelligence Committee, Senator Rockefeller is responsible for the acts of his subordinates. We cannot permit America's national security to be damaged by partisan political warfare."
Hahn cited the danger of what SIC Chairman Sen. Pat Roberts (R-KS) called an "attack plan" when he said, "The members of the Senate Intelligence Committee have access to our government's most sensitive secrets. The lives of America's soldiers and intelligence agents depend on their using that knowledge responsibly."
Hahn backs up his call for Rockefeller's resignation, saying, "It is now clear that certain partisan members of this vital committee have conspired to misuse their positions, influence, and access to classified information to undermine President Bush during the 2004 campaign season."
Mr. Hahn denounced the contents of the leaked memo that "describes a phony 'independent investigation' designed to let the Democrats dig through classified material -- information that should be used to improve our national security -- to support and publicize their political agenda."
Hahn added, "We agree with Senator Zell Miller that this abuse must not be tolerated, ignored, or excused, and that 'heads should roll.'"
The work of the committee has been brought to a halt as a result of the controversy. Roberts indicated that it may not meet again until Democrats disavow the memo, identify its author, and apologize to the majority. Without a voluntary admission of responsibility for the memo, a Senate Ethics probe may be necessary to discover and punish the perpetrators.

Calling it like it is ("United States Senate Select Committee on Intelligence -- A partially-owned subsidiary of the Democratic National Committee"): Priceless.

Don't let the rats get away with one more
treasonous, America-hating act!
With a little luck, we can have a response like that to the movie-hit piece of Ronald Reagan. By hook or by crook we must drag the Pubbie leadership into the battle field! This cannot stand!

I hate to say this, but I've read that memo through three times, and I can't find anywhere in it that it says they're going to use classified information for their nefarious ends.
It mentions "public statements" and "de-classified materials", but nowhere does it say "We can use the secret information that we get from the CIA to bash the GOP" or anything similar.
What's the big deal, or are we getting our knickers in a wad over nothing?

BEST OF THE WEB TODAY, BY JAMES TARANTO, November 18, 2003 Rocky Fesses Up
When Fox News reported two weeks ago on a leaked memo outlining the Democrats' strategy to use the Senate Intelligence Committee for political gain, Sen. Jay Rockefeller, the committee's ranking Democrat, seemed to disclaim responsibility: "The draft memo was not approved nor was it shared with any member of the Senate Intelligence Committee or anyone else. It was likely taken from a waste basket or through unauthorized computer access."
Now, however, he's changing his tune. In an op-ed in today's Washington Post, he seems to acknowledge that staffers drafted the memo at his direction:
"Faced with Republicans' continuing refusal to conduct a complete investigation into these matters, my staff recently drafted an options memo on the use or potential misuse of intelligence. The memo, intended only for me, was pilfered from the usually secure Senate intelligence committee and distributed to the media. It has become a convenient excuse for Republicans to shut down the committee and curtail the investigation."
It's more than a "convenient excuse," of course. The committee's raison d'être is honest oversight; if the Dems are determined to transform it into a partisan club, it may as well shut down.

I agree completely. He should resign.

Sheets Byrd has been and is protected by the RATS and special interest groups for so long that he has become an institution and disloding him appears insurmountable except by death. Hopefully, RAT Rockefeller won't be given the same protection and perk, and he will be dislodged. Good idea about this website!
