I noticed from your homepage that you're English so I'll take your word for it. But are the figures we keep hearing accurate? That between 60% and 70% of the Brits agree with this kook?
I don't remember who said it the other day . . . I think it was someone from Sweden or Norway . . . but he said the problems Europe and the U.S. are having is that Europeans are basing their reactions to current events on the timeline of the Berlin Wall falling and us Americans are, naturally, basing our reactions to current events on 9-11. This is the only explanation that has made any sense to me.
The Europeans would do well to remember how us Americans reacted after the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. 9-11, to us, is every bit as bad. I don't expect all Europeans to agree with it. I don't expect all Europeans to understand our fury. I do think all Europeans should at least acknowledge it.
Europeans, and jackasses like this piss-ant Mayor, can curse President Bush all they want but MOST Americans agree with him . . . you're either with us or with the terrorists and EVERY European had best check their history books. An enraged American populace isn't an entity one wants to piss off.
Europeans can call us arrogant if they wish . . . but we're no more arrogant now than we were on December 7, 1941 and every non-German/Italian speaking European was thankful as hell that from that day until the Wall fell that the Sleeping Giant was on their side.
My how memories fade.
The Giant is no longer sleeping. Neither friend or foe will be allowed to bitch-slap us with impunity any longer.
I thought we could always count on the Brits and the Aussies. I hope we still can.
