Not widely known is that the majority of Christians in Indonesia are of Chinese ancestry, and they (along with the Timorese) suffered the the wrath of the Islamics there during the civil unrest recently.

David Aikman is also the writer of a though-provoking work of fiction titled "When the Almond Tree Blossoms". I read it nearly a decade ago and enjoyed it. I just checked and, though it is out of print, it is out there on the used market.
