German gifts to the world: Gutenberg's invention and Martin Luther's 95 Thesis on the Wittenburg Door.
Pivotal events in our civilization.

Actually, there is a country in Africa which is officially a Christian nation.

"We no longer have a shared worldview with Eurabia."
Indeed, after encouraging the expansion of NATO after the end of the Warsaw Pact and Soviet Union, NATO, much less the UN, couldn't do jack sh*t in the Balkans during the disintergration of Yugoslavia during the 90's without American leadership.
Now, we're just a "hyperpower", capitalist, imperialist bully willing to kill for oil.
A great number of them chose the politics of socialism despite our efforts to help defend them against the Union of Soviet Socialst Republics.
Without a commonly perceived threat, and with sufficiently different cultures, we're bound to drift apart. Amen

David Aikman is also the writer of a though-provoking work of fiction titled "When the Almond Tree Blossoms". I read it nearly a decade ago and enjoyed it. I just checked and, though it is out of print, it is out there on the used market.

I think we (U.S.) are a post-Christian nation. We are not far behind Britain and France unless we have a revival in this nation.

I often wonder, is it more important to be a Christian nation or to be a nation of Christians....Good point.

Yeah, the end of the middle ages began in America (discovery of the new world) and in Germany.
Thanks! There´s a lot we can be proud of, and we can even be proud of how we became a respected nation after all what Germans did to its neighbours.
Being a good patriot also means respecting the patriotism of other nations -> less Anti-americanism. Those who have problems loving themselves, hate others if they love themselves.
