Well, he admitted that he took the drugs "because he liked it", and said he was introduced to a new pain medication and some therapy while in rehab. Still, he indicated that surgery will most likely be required to address the pain at some point, but the problem is that the surgery requires moving the larynx out of the way and Rush is fearful of the 2% chance that something could go wrong and affect his livelihood.
