Admittedly, I did not read the whole story. Guess I'm one of those yahoos who think GWB is doing the best for our country, and that anything that will increase homeland security is allright with me. I'll go read the rest of it now...

Well, the problem with legislation enacted during the reign of a man you trust, you see, is that in our political system that man you trust can only serve 8 years. Then we get a new man that you may not trust. Yet the legislation lives on. . .
I'm going to offer a theory. No matter what historians say are the reasons for the collapse of past civilizations, I say the common root reason was short-sightedness.
