"We are known for being aggressive, thorough and pushy,"
Can't imagine why.
"The media does not show contemporary Germany, history lessons focus on Hitler and few people realize that strong brands like Nivea, Hugo Boss and Puma are actually German."
Yeah, I tried that 'Hitler' cologne and it sucked, so did the 'Hitler' suits and shoes...just not appealing. Maybe if they put out a 'Jolly Herman Goering fudge' or a Himmler shaving cream....instead of Nivea try the new Martin Borman Vanishing Cream...

Well, it's only been 58 years. Heck, in the US it's been 137 years and the war really isn't over yet. And the Muslims are still pissed at Charles Martel.

Germany, which has been saddled with negative stereotypes since World War II, is actually hip, hedonistic and laid back, a team of image consultants is trying to persuade Britons. Why every other Friday afternoon, they replace the "Arbeit macht Frei" signs with "Spass macht Frei".

That's funny, my image of Germans always involved whips, chains, black leather, high-heeled boots, and pierced nipples. And that's just the men.

Too funny! I had the same person from SNL skits in mind when I read this article and was about to do a search for the image myself.
I'm currently reading "Rise and Fall of The Third Reich" by Shirer and I am amazed at how the German people, politicians and military stood aside and let Hitler amass all that power when they had many opportunities to nip it in the bud. I read this book many years ago when I was younger but it makes a lot more sense to me now this time around. A very chilling story of what can happen when people are willing to give up their freedoms in exchange for "having a full belly and having the trains run on time."

Germany, which has been saddled with negative stereotypes since World War II, is actually hip, hedonistic and laid back Germany was hip hedonistic etc... in the run up to the Nazis and under the Nazis.
This isn't what Germany needs to be or focus on.
To: martin_fierro; wizardoz
KRAFTWERK is DEVO Well, that would explain the whips.
