One of the principal thesis of my fictional Dragon's Fury Series is that the Russians realize they need help exploiting and developing the Siberian resources to the point of jump starting their stagnant economy and they turn to the Chinese and the INdians to do so...who then later stab them in the back when Siberia declares Independence and professes solidarity with the Chinese.

Of course this happens after 2-3 years of warfare of the Chinese and the Islamics against the West which Russia tries to sit out.
