"Bah! Humbug!" To you too!
Personally, I don't think treating religion (i.e. Judaica, Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, etc.) as a non-issue is quite the same thing as oppression.
BUT - and that's a very big butt, it seems to me that there are those that have it in for Christianity. And "those" I am referring to include the ACLU and secular liberals (I know some old-school, elderly democrats who are deeply devout Christians). Yet, public schools with facial hair policy are required to allow muslim students to keep their facial hair, and any mention of Christ, even by students, is a violation of their rights.
I don't get it. Ergo - an all or nothing policy seems like the only answer to make both sides of the argument happy. Personally, I support the "nothing" camp (flame on if you wish). We are not a theocracy (thank God). Realistically, however, the "all" is more feasible, because there is a larger percentage of Americans who believe in God, no matter what form He may take. It's the blurred line between God and Religion that's got ppl's panties in a wad (yes, there's a difference)
This whole thing is kind of silly since Christmas and Jesus Christ really have nothing to do with each other. No one is sure when Christ was born, and there is nothing in the Scriptures that indicate we are to celebrate His birth.
It is certain that the Devil does NOT memorialize the BIRTH (Incarnation) of Jesus Messiah!
The Wise Men came......
Saying,....."Where is He that is BORN King of the Jews?......for WE have seen HIS STAR.....and come to WORSHIP Him!" (This BORN One!)
Matthew 2:2
The Devil is NOT wise!
Merry Christmas!!
(Romans 10:17)
Maranatha!!
:-)
Merry Christmas! Marantha!
