Number one, you are an idiot.Ah yes, the venerable ad hominem. I wouldn't want a day to pass without having the minions of the empire gratuitously insult me.
=snip=
You are ignorant as well. The active ingredients are known, mainly scopalamine and also atropine to a lesser extent. They differ markedly from indole based hallucinogens such as LSD or psilocin.
Ya got me there. I was, in fact, ignorant of the chemical makeup of the active compounds in the plant. Did I claim in my post to be otherwise? Would that be the cause of your uncalled for insults? Thanks for enlightening me. Now that I have some useful names to look up, I can be further educated in the details of the issue at hand at my leisure.
Ignorance of a given subject is easily remedied. The fact that you are an ass is not.

Interesting. After reading some of the posts here, I'd say it sounds like a pretty powerful drug. Three day trips would be a bit on the excessive side imo. Not something I'd have messed with even in my wild and crazy days as that would be way too much time to set aside for a trip. It sounds like dosages would be pretty hard to guage too. The earlier comment about not eating something that a pig won't touch is a darn good rule of thumb. :-)

Ah yes, the venerable ad hominem. No. An important observation and message to you. Your idiotic statement had nothing to do with the fact that you didn't know the active ingredients of datura. If you don't know what I am specifically referring to read your post again and try to figure it out.

I wouldn't follow the converse though.... Pigs eat belladonna, which also contains scopalamine and and atropine.

seriously, jimson weed grows wild all over northeast Louisiana... we used it all the time when i was growing up..if you got a thorn in your hand or foot or any kind of sore...just crush some leaves from the jimpson weed and hold them on the sore spot for a few minutes...and the thorn would come to the surface or the sore would fester so you you pop it.
didn't take but a few minutes but burned like the dickens.

I once attended to a 15 year old that had drank jimsom weed tea, If he wasnt having primal screams from the top of his lungs he was Begging GOD to save his life. he had a 200 lb cop ditting on his leg which he lifted the cop in the air and held him there. It took 5 guys to hold this 90 lb kid down. The super stregth is nothing more than the blocking of pain receptors that would make any of us stop lifting before our arms broke. Not these people they will snap their arms under their own strength.
If any of your kids think about doing this.... hold them by the hair and punch them in the face as hard as you can. Then tell them too bad you weren't on jimson weed you wouldn't have felt that.

called the Angel Trumpet, Datura or JimsonweedWasn't Datura one of the hallucinogens given to Castaneda by his Yaqui mentor in The Teachings of Don Juan?

I like smokin apples. Especially, when they are beneath rubbed baby-back ribs!

I don't know what to say about the alleged dangerousness of this drug. It's very dangerous. Don't worry about it being just alleged --- it really is. It grows all over around this area and there have been a number of deaths from it.

It would be almost impossible to illegalize this weed. I see it growing everywhere --- the flowers are quite pretty, I imagine plenty of people just pick the flowers --- but don't smoke them. I'm sure my kids have picked the flowers from this weed the way kids will when making a bouquet.
