Green River Killings Linked to Pornography

The Green River Killer, believed to be the most prolific serial killer in American history, has confessed to killing at least 48 women. In searching Gary Ridgway's home, police uncovered something common to most serial killers pornography.
The search of Ridgway's home yielded bone fragments, blood stains, women's undergarments and pornographic magazines. Tim Wildmon, a vice president of the American Family Association, has no doubt that involvement with pornography fueled the murderous spree.
"Mr. Ridgway evidently got so deep into pornography and sex that he crossed over the line to actually acting on the thoughts," Wildmon said.
This isn't the first case to suggest a link between serial killers and pornography. According to the FBI, 81 percent of sexually oriented murderers and serial killers listed pornography as their primary sexual interest. Before his execution in 1989, convicted serial killer Ted Bundy spoke with Focus on the Family Chairman Dr. James Dobson.
Said Bundy at the time: "I've met a lot of men who were motivated to commit violence, just like me. And without exception, every one of them was deeply involved in pornography, without question."
Bundy also said during the interview that the most dangerous form of pornography included both violent and sexual images.
"The wedding of those two forces, as I know only too well, brings about behavior that is just too terrible to describe," Bundy told Dobson.
Not everyone who is addicted to pornography acts out violently. But Wildmon said every man who views "adult material" is affected.
"It corrupts your soul. From a spiritual aspect, certainly, Christians should do everything they can to avoid that temptation and to avoid falling."

No offense, but I bet if you were to go through most guys homes, you'd find pornography. I don't think that looking at naked women makes you a serial killer, it makes you a guy.

And in the refrigerator, they found coffee creamer and eggs.

I don't think that looking at naked women makes you a serial killer, it makes you a guy. Agreed. But I think it could be a spark that makes a nutcase go over the top and act out his fantasies.

I think if a guy is having fantasies about killing women, anything could make him go over the top.

Poor me. How about women who look at porny, are they exempt from moral corruption? If so, my wife will be very happy.

police uncovered something common to most serial killers pornography. Also pretty common among men -- and women -- who are not serial killers.

If there is a link --
even if it's not direct,
cause and effect stuff --
then society
as a whole will probably
see a huge increase
in fringe, violent crime,
because "mainstream" media
has been embracing
little by little
all the characteristics
of pornography --

Given the air tight logic exhibited on this thread, let's supply porn to the kiddies just like milk, eggs and shoes.
To: truthandlife
I will be more surprised when they kind a guy who doesn't have pornography.

When are we gonna wake up and see the deadly connection between eggs, milk and shoes? I discount the coffee creamer connection, 'cause no one realistically believes that can make you into a killer. A democrat or a used car salesman perhaps, but not a killer.

Don't insult their "homeless drug addicted teenager being assaulted by three 30 to 40 year old men porno flick".
God forbid. This is freedom of speech you know.
The addiction our country has to this stuff and its mainstream exceptance is frightening.
To: truthandlife
Hogwash. I've seen pictures of naked women and I've never been a serial killer. The link between murder and sexually tilitating material is sheer bunk.

Drawing analogies like this are absurd. Its like saying people with guns kill other people or individuals who watch violent movies become violent themselves.
The problem is with the Green River Killer. HE and HE alone is to blame for his actions, despite what any pandering defense attorneys may dredge up.

Viewing pornography is harmful to young children. It floods them with images they will warp further as they try to make sense of them, and dwell on them. They will often act out inappropriately with other children and fail to learn to appreciate girls and boys as the people they are, and focus on them as objects for fantasies and pleasure.
Milk, shoes, and other everyday items do not do this to their minds and relationships -- but porn does.
Grown-ups who haven't learned to form relationships will also be adversely affected by porn - and often the people they come in contact with will unwittingly be objectified and raped in the warped minds of these corrupted, emotionally stunted predators.
Porn feeds that beast.
To: FreedomPoster; biblewonk
Yet again, FReepers nail the issue in the first couple of posts. Uh-huh. Milk and eggs feed the soul in the same way porn does. Porn doesn't feed the savage beast in those serial killers. Yeah, sure.
Denial isn't just a river in Egypt.
