I thought the preliminary was held solely to determine if the defendant should be bound over for trial. I can't imagine a basis for Geragos to call her.

Defense issuing subpoenas relating to Frey

9:15 a.m. PST: Papers given to attorney Gloria Allred outside the Stanislaus County courthouse Thursday afternoon were a notice from Scott Peterson's defense attorney, The Bee has learned.
A paralegal from Mark Geragos' law firm handed Allred legal documents after Peterson's preliminary hearing concluded for the day.
Those papers were a notice that the defense is subpoenaing documents from other parties relating to Frey, Peterson's girlfriend at the time his wife, Laci, disappeared.
Peterson is charged with two counts of murder in the deaths of his wife and their son, who was to be named Conner. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.
