She was bolused with D5W, so her blood sugar will be elevated. That is about right after rapid infusion. Elevated blood sugar at that level will not O2 deprive and cause severe brain damage.
Matter of fact, I have admitted folks with blood sugars 700-800. They are alert, aware and walk.

Thanks for answering that for me.

Something that came up on another board I post on and maybe you can shed some light for me. Someone brought up Flagyl and the fact that they gave it to her while she was on Dilantin. Could that cause any adverse reactions since, from what I'm told, you're not to use one with the other?
