The only Investigation that is taking place right now is the Advocacy organization.

This Organization is chartered by the U.S. Federal Government to investigate crimes against persons with disabilities who reside in Florida.

Everyone will write what they want, for me the biggest (and there are sooooo many to pick form) evidence that points to Terri as being denied her civil rights and being mistreated by her Guardian, her Husband (In Name Only), is the fact that he and his lawyers, after they had already removed her feeding tube and had started to starve her, denied her priest permission to administer Holy Communion.

That to me was their most flagrant and aggrieves action, their actions denied Terri her Freedom of Religion, on top of denying her the Right to Life.

They were well on their way already taking away her number on right established by the United States Constitution Bill of Rights, the Right to Life, now they were taking away her freedom of Religion.

Our Right to Life was the very first Right that our founding fathers wrote down when declaring our Independence from England.

I am sure that the Advocacy Center in Florida would appreciate getting support from their core organization out of Washington DC.

Write a paper letter to the Federal Secretary of Health and Human Services, they are probably the ones funding the Florida Advocacy Organization.

I would also recommend calling the Press office as they have the ability to listen and and report back to the Secretary what is on the public mind.

I saw the segment, too, but I took that comment to mean that Felos seems to now be focusing on shoring up the "Terri's wish" defense - as a switch from the previous "she's PVS" defense, which fell apart after the Schindlers released videos of Terri responding to them to the media. In fact, public opinion about Terri's condition changed dramatically after the videos were released, as did the level of outrage over the PVS diagnosis. Doctors even stated they believe she may be 'minimally couscious' as distinct from PVS after seeing the videos. And, Florida law does not view PVS as a terminal illness, even if she IS judged to be in a PVS state by Wolfson.

On the other hand, calling for Terri's feeding tube to be removed based on "Terri's wish" - the right-to-privacy, right-to-die argument is weaker still, though. MS's contradictory (but court-approved) hearsay is a weaker defense because it's open to challenge on multiple fronts, most notably because he changed his sworn testimony after winning the malpractice award. Bush is defending Terri's Law based on Constitutional protections and not whether the diagnosis of Terri's condition is accurate.

even if she IS judged to be in a PVS state by Wolfson.

If Wolfson judges her to be PVS, he is diagnosing medicine without a license and that is against the law.

I always enjoy your posts so much. They are well thought out and rational. Well ocassionally you get wired and rip one out, but hey I like that. We all need to be wired up about this injustice.

I'm going to dig up that address of the Florida Judicial Committee on Guardianship and drop them an e-mail next.

p.s. you know why I have so many typo's right? I have a deformity on one hand and two fingers don't work they just drag and then it screws up my typing and hit's keys I don't wnat hit and also becasue one hand is deformed then I hit the right keys but not in the right order so it looks like I'm dyslexi, I'm really not it jsut looks that way. On important communications I take the time and spell check etc. but ont his message board if I took the time to do that it would take forever to post so I just don't bother and hope that once in a while if I mention this people will understand that I am not really ignorent and on my posts to mentally correct for juxposed letters etc.

There are so many of these cases where people where thought to be 'hopeless' and either recovered or turned out to be alive and aware but trapped in their bodies, it's frightening to think of the consequences if we don't stop state-approved executions of these people.

Terri recognizes and responds to her family so what will it take for Greer and others to allow her to be disabled with dignity instead of trying to kill her? :(

I don't even include MS and Felos as those who might someday 'see the light' as they must KNOW she responds to her family! How could they not?

our 12 year old has CP that was aquired at birth. She was born premature due to a drug addicted mother. She is actually at the dr. today for a check concerning a possibility that it is now starting to affect her spine....We took her when she was 6 months old as a foster child and have raised her.

I am very pessimistic about Wolfson. He went to Stetnson law school in Florida whre all these jusdges seem to have gone. Yeah even though he is ""DR"" Wolfson he is not a medical doctor and also he is a lawyer, with his PhD being in Public Health Finance, he is a "policy" dude. I expect him to feel that all the disabled are a drain on the Healthcare cossts and it is better to eliminate tham.

But you never know we could get surprised.

Even if the Jeb Bush law gets struck IF the Advocacy Organizations investigation determins that Michael has not been a good Guardian then perhaps at last he will be removed by Greer. Also the outcome of the Advocacy Organization Investigation could result in forcing the Sheriff (who in a newspaper article stated that he has been friends with Judge George Greer for 20 years and what a great guy he is)and/or other law enforcemtn organizations to begin an investigation into Michael.

I am thinking that Hannity and Colmes should be aware of Terri's Birthday and CELEBRATE somehow on NATIONAL TV. Any idea's how we could encourage a birthday party for Terri on the Front lawn of the Hospice??

The number of Terri threads on Free Republic, not counting the ones that were pulled now number 574, with the number of verifiable posts at 67,525. Thank you Robert Drobot for your hard work in compiling that list. Now if we could just get those links working. Sorry, I wouldn't know what to do short of redoing every one. Hope someone can help.

I organized a somewhat similar event and this is how you do it.

terrisfight.org needs to contact politicians and church leaders and get them to commit to attending. then they send out press releases, and follow up with phone calls to press organizations and encourage them to attend. They need to communicate that same information here.

Once we all are aware of their contacts then we also communicate with the press and encourage them to attend.

I got real good press coverage on a meeting with our State's Governor by following the above. What your attitude is, "it is a done deal." You tell the politicians that the press is coming, you tell the press that the residents/public will come and you tell the public/residents that the press and politicians will attend. You just basically tell everyone that everyone is is coming and you have a done deal and presto everyone shows up becasue they dont' want to be left out.

You have my respect for adopting a child with CP, pollywog. I too know a boy who was born with it - it was birth related, as he was premature and his lungs lacked surfectant, which as you know, allows them to inflate and hold oxygen. The mother was in the military in Italy and the hospital didn't have any of the treatment for the condition on hand. The nuns in the hospital where he was born wanted to send him away to a monastary to be raised. Instead she returned to the U.S. and loves him very much in spite of his physical challenges. He's had to have several operations to correct problems with his muscles but aside from that his awareness is normal - he laughs, he understands, he is like any other child except for his disability. When I saw the videos of Terri I thought of him. She seems to be watching and understanding and expressing emotion too.

I know a person can be made unconscious without being strangled. I know because it happened to me. I was in 5th grade when a "friend" approached me and told me that she could make me pass out (that her brother showed her how). I didn't believe her, we bet, and stupid me agreed to be the guinea pig. She stood behind me, told me to bend over and touch my toes and then, holding my breath, stand up straight again really fast, still holding my breath. She immediately put her hand on the back of my neck under my hairline and squeezed (not really hard though). The next thing I remember is that I was on the pavement, looking up at everybody. I had thousands of holes and runs in my hose and I was po'd.

TAMPA, Fla. - An attorney for the husband of a brain-damaged woman is trying to convince an appeals court that Gov. Jeb Bush should not be allowed to delay a challenge to a new law that restored her feeding tube.

In a brief filed Monday, Michael Schiavo's attorney argued that his constitutional challenge to the new law should not be held up any longer while Bush takes issue with failing to be served with a formal notice of the lawsuit.

Schiavo's attorney, George Felos, also argues that if the 2nd District Court of Appeal in Lakeland sides with Bush, then the constitutional case should proceed against Attorney General Charlie Crist, who was also named as a defendant.

Schiavo contends that the hastily passed law that allowed Bush to order reinsertion of Terri Schiavo's feeding tube is unconstitutional because it violates her right to privacy and separation-of-power provisions of the Florida Constitution.

Michael Schiavo has been fighting his in-laws in court for years for the right to remove the tube, saying his wife would not want to be kept alive artificially. She suffered severe brain damage in 1990 when her heart temporarily stopped, cutting off oxygen to her brain.

Terri Schiavo's parents, Bob and Mary Schindler, dispute that she is in a vegetative state and believe her condition could improve with therapy.

Florida courts had repeatedly affirmed the right of Michael Schiavo to remove the tube. It was removed for six days when Bush ordered it restored Oct. 21.

Attorneys for the governor insist Felos must serve legal papers as required and argue the lawsuit must be filed in Tallahassee, the seat of state government.

Circuit Judge W. Douglas Baird issued an order Friday to let the lawsuit move ahead, but the appeals court issued a stay hours later on Bush's appeal.

"The governor should not be allowed to hide behind alleged procedural deficiencies to support further delay," Felos wrote.

Bush denies trying to delay the case. State attorneys say they are just trying to make Felos follow proper procedure for suing the governor.

I only wish I lived in Florida and could spear head this effort. I am thinking FloriduhVoter or cyn?? I will certainly do my part in contacting anyone and working from Los Angeles here to get this off the ground, but we need a Florida " hands on" person to do this. I am just thinking that the public will respond to a " Birthday Party" !!
