The President met this morning with three of the judicial nominees being blocked by the obstreperous committee Democrats...... Carolyn Kuhl, Janice Brown and Priscilla Owen...... and reaffirmed his support of them, then answered a few questions from the press. Later this morning he flew to Florida to attend two Bush-Cheney 2004 fundraisers, one with brother Jeb at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort (where guests munched Mickey Mouse shaped Krispie treats), and this afternoon gave a speech on Medicare to seniors at Englewood Neighborhood Center. His second fundraiser is this evening, so more pictures will follow. Enjoy your Daily Dose of Dubya!!

And yet, these three women are being denied a chance to serve on the bench because of ugly politics in the United States Senate. These folks deserve an up-or-down vote on the Senate floor. If they get an up-or-down vote on the Senate floor, they will be confirmed because the majority of justices believe they should serve. And yet a few senators are playing politics. And it's wrong, and it's shameful, and it's hurting the system.

Hey, my stepdaughter just called saying she saw the Presidents motorcade leaving the airport, she was so excited! Having said that, she is not a fan of Bush, and, being a young college student, is something of a Liberal..

Also with Bush was his brother, Florida's GOP Gov. Jeb Bush, who helped put on display the Bush family's penchant for good-natured teasing.

Introducing his brother as "Mr. President" appeared to give Jeb Bush pause. "I still haven't quite got used to it yet," he said, to much laughter.

The president fought back. "Thanks, Jeb, I mean governor," he said, promptly jabbing his brother for being "a modest fellow" who nonetheless has claimed credit for the Florida Marlins' baseball championship.

"I told him he doesn't have any idea what it take to run a championship baseball team," said the president, once the owner of the lackluster Texas Rangers. "He reminded me — I don't either."
