Freshman television and radio major Ram Calley said he thinks the issue is complicated because students would be upset if the college tried to limit political speech, but that hate speech is different.

The problem with so-called "hate speech" is deciding on whose definition of "hate" would be used to determine if something was indeed "hate speech". One person's definition of "hate" could be more general whereas another person's definition of "hate" could be more exact.

To them, any speech that disagrees with them is "hate speech."

Exactly. In Canada, quoting the Bible has been labeled "hate speech".
