LOS ANGELES - A Ukranian woman described as the leader of a prostitution ring that employed more than 50 smuggled Russian and Ukrainian women was convicted of pimping, pandering and money laundering. Rimma Fetissova, 43, and five other people, including her daughter Elena Fetissova, 22, were charged last year in one of the largest prostitution busts in city history. Elena Fetissova remains at large and another defendant is awaiting trial. The other three either pleaded no contest or guilty, said Deputy District Attorney Marcia Daniel. Rimma Fetissova was convicted on eight counts Wednesday and faces at least three years in prison at sentencing Jan. 14. Los Angeles County District Attorney's office spokeswoman Jane Robison on Thursday described her as the group's ringleader. The prostitution ring brought in as much as $8 million in the Los Angeles area over 22 months, according to Det. Keith Haight, who led the investigation. Once in the United States, Haight said, the Russian and Ukrainian women used their prostitution earnings to pay back smuggling debts. Some, he said, hoped for permanent U.S. residency, while others wanted to make money and return home.
Worth every penny of that LA County property tax override, wasn't it?
I hope they don't sue their pimps.
Sounds like she's ready for a management position at the DNC.
