I wanted to give everyone an update. First of all, I want to thank everyone for praying for Carly and my family. Prayers have truly sustained us through this ordeal. We went to the ENT specialist again today to get Carly's hearing tested again and go over the lab results. All of her lab results came back normal except for an EKG. We have to get in touch with a child cardiologist to get more extensive tests. I am not really worried about this. Carly's hearing tested out the same as a few weeks ago. We think we have put a pinpoint that her hearing loss has only been going on for about a year. We have not gotten the genetic tests back yet.
We were talking about hearing aids today with the audiologist and that is when my wife really broke down. She is pregnant and very emotional at this time.
I am asking you to pray for a few issues. I would first like for you all to pray for my wife's pregnancy and her emotional state. The second thing I would like for you to pray for is wisdom. I would still like to get a second opinion from another ENT and audiologist. I would also like to find out the cause so that we can somehow prevent her hearing loss from getting worse. I also ask for you to pray for her hearing loss to stop and (God willing) to reverse. I also ask you to pray for our economic situation to pay for the hearing aids. I knew they cost a lot of money but I did not know they were $5,000. We are not poor but we don't have $5,000 laying around at this time to pay for the aids. (BY THE WAY I DON'T WANT ANYONE TO ASK WHERE THEY CAN SEND MONEY). We will be able to come up with an answer but it might take us a little bit of time.
Thanks for your prayers for they mean a lot. I will let you all know how the genetic tests come out as soon as we find out.
