(I think) It is kinda like the buddist priciple duty or Dharma; The thread in which we touch people is stretched infinately thin through our actions. Our decision of buying a pack of gum affects everyone around us in some way. If are actions are based on positive constructive thought rather than base desire, the world has been built up rather than torn down... now I have a tendancy to do all sorts of selfish things, but it doesn't mean I cannot aspire.
for example, the base desire of the environmentalist to see the environment pristine in So Cal led to complete devistation of the basin... absolutely pagan and negative.
