Back in my jr high woodshop class, we were told never to sand against the grain.
Me thinks ole wooden man got sanded a few too many times. Either that, or someone did some awfully sloppy work when they were turning him on the lathe.

Then again, maybe Ipana's Bucky Beaver created him. :)

I loved Bucky Beaver, entertaining my two little guys so wonderfully, and encouraging them to brush...not that I wanted them to have teeth like Bucky's, you understand..:))
