When I was in, we had payday and the exec officer counted out the cash. I didn't have any problem. I have a question that does not seem to fit the story. How in the name of common sense can a soldier in the middle of Iraq cash his paycheck? Do they have ATM's in their humvees? Something does not mesh here.
