Task Force ALL AMERICAN continues mission successfully
AR RAMADI, Iraq Task Force All American continues to conduct operations to help stop attacks against the Iraqi people and coalition forces. By carrying out these operations, Iraq is moving towards a more self-controlled and peaceful country.
The All American Division went on 167 patrols, seven of which were joint patrols carried out with members of the Border Guard and Iraqi policemen. One raid and one cordon and search were also performed over the last 24 hours. These operations resulted in 25 detainees.
Members of the 3rd ACR confiscated a number of weapons and explosives in an operation early this morning. The weapons included several small arms, one rocket propelled grenade and one crew serve weapon. The explosives rendered TNT, plastic explosives, detonation cord and fuses.
Task Force All American also netted a weapons cache containing six surface-to-air missiles near Habbaniyah.
Soldiers from the 82nd Airborne Division, 1st Brigade Combat Team, and 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment are consistently working to cease attacks against the Iraqis and Coalition Forces. Because of these efforts, Iraq grows closer to becoming a more safe and secure country.

Despite all these captures of weaponry, it seems like we've just scratched the surface. It's becoming clear that Saddam's WMD's - wherever they might be and whatever shape they're in - were only a small part of his arsenal, and perhaps not the most significant part. The guy was up to his eyeballs in conventional weaponry, and clearly was maintaining his status as the Arab Strong Man of the Middle east and of the world. Someday, these weapons would have been used. And it's becoming increasingly clear that it wasn't the U.N embargo that was harming Iraqi children - if there was enough money to buy all this weaponry, and build Saddam's palaces, and purchase hundreds of thousands of free cars for Ba'ath Party honchos, there was enough to feed the children and provide for their health care. Saddam let them die for propaganda reasons.

Progress again. Sooner or later they'll round up all those illegal weapons and all those who use them.

The explosives rendered TNT, plastic explosives, detonation cord and fuses which were used to demolish the Al Rashid Hotel bar, freeing up reporters for duty as human shields on the 172 scheduled patrols for the remainder of Bombadan.
