Hedgecock is a total hack. A former centrist who was sent into political exile because everyone had enough of him, and who later veered to the right in order to make his new career in talk radio. He's a blatant opportunist, and I was thrilled when his mayoral term ended. (And it's curious how his supporters never mention his rather, um, checkered past with the law.)

Thank gosh only one more day of Tom Sullivan and then 14 days after Rush comes Back Mannheim Steamroller bumps.

I hope it's not to late for RUSH to take on the 'rats over Memo-gate.
I hear his "Stack of Stuff" is 8 ft 5 1/2 inches tall...

I think Roger draws people because of his tenacity .. not his "polished voice". However, he does have a commanding voice - which threatens some people.

Welcome back Rush, but as far as I'm concerned on issues of morality, you've lost all credibility.Contrary to popular belief, Rush has never been the Great Moralizer he's made out to be. In the 12 years I've been listening to him, I can't recall a single monologue or diatribe dedicated to the immorality of drug use (aside from the occasional reference to "sope smoking FM-types"). The man's always been about simple, common sense... not moral superiority.

Well...WE knew! Here at Freepers!!
We got the inside industry information that never was mentioned in the mainstream! So, lots of other people did not know that Rush was starting back on 11/17. However, I think that they were also making sure he was able to do so before they announced it on his show.

I don't listen as much as I use to, but you're right; I can't remember the last time he went off about addicts.

Welcome back Rush.
The subs have done a nice job.
Drudge did an outstanding job today. I was suprised. It was like he was awake, for once. We also found out John Fund has a personality. wow.

Au Contraire, Rush was always quite the stickler in the old days that drugs must absolutely remain illegal as they contributed,in his view, to the demise of society. He was the first to point out that he and his friend (to whom he looked up) Bill Buckley disagreed adamently regarding this. Rush was anti-drugs period. He was avowedly pro-life and anti homosexual rights. V's wife.

I'm not sure he would have changed on this, except in emphasis. Consider that a man whose life ambition was to have the ultimate CD collection went deaf just as he achieved his ambition -- because of drugs. It's obvious to me that the current war on drugs is counterproductive, but the alternative is not to make them as available as aspirin, nor is there any reason to normalize recreational use of addictive drugs.

Three Cheers, Hip, Hip, Hooray! Well, make that lots of Cheers.
The Limbaugh Clan...braw and brave...It will be very good to have the head honcho of the VRWC back in the saddle giving liberals headaches, hissy fits, and nervous ticks!
Best news to hear that Rush has successfully completed phase one on his road to recovery.

He was avowedly pro-life and anti homosexual rights. V's wife.Personal failings do not disqulify anyone from being pro-life, anti-drug or against legistlative preferences for homosexuals. The worst it can do is open you up to charges of hypocrisy, which are essentially meaningless when you consider that hypocrisy is a trait universal to all human beings not named Jesus Christ. Rush never said he was the Second Coming, and nobody ever thought he was.
I don't consider Pro Life women who've had abortions hypocrites. I don't consider anti-smoking lung cancer patients hypocrites. I consider them wiser for their experiences. Rush is no different. He's free to hold any position his life experiences have led him to.
But the fact of this matter is, no matter what opinion he's expressed, Rush Limbaugh has never once told me what to do. Expressing opinions, even on "moral issues" doesn't make one a moralizer.

I still wish they would've let Bo Snerdley (James Golden) host a few times these past weeks.

That is good news. But I have to admit , I was disapointed to hear about the drug addiction- not because he had become addicted- but because I had to hear about it from the Enquirer and had to listen to the 'Rats, having a feeding frenzy . I wish he would have come clean about it. That being said , I'm pretty sure , if I switched places with Rush, and had his problem, I wouldn't have told anybody either, so I'm being a hypocrite. The irony about the whole thing is that the public exposure of his addiction probally saved his life.
While I was disappointed about how his problem was revealed, I don't get people here who say he's "lost all credibility". How can that be? The main focus of his show is political analaysis, not morality per se. The democrat party has been taken over by a bunch of socialists in disguise, who would like nothing better than to throw our Declaration of Independence and Constitution in the trash, and turn us over to UN control. Rush points these things out to people- He does a very good job of it too.
As for when he has talked about morals, I think he's tyring to say it's better to try and be a good person, live a good life, rather than, as the liberals do , just throw up your hands and say "oh well, everybody does it" never mind , whatever.
The point of trying to be a better person, is not that you will be 100% succesful at it, but that you keep trying , that you get back up after you fall. I mean this is what life is all about. No one is perfect.
It will be interesting to hear what he has to say on Monday. We need to keep Praying for him. He still has a long way to go in recovering. He needs to take things one day at a time.
