Three officers shot, other casualties feared

Texas (AP) -- Three officers were shot and wounded early Wednesday during a standoff at an apartment, and officials said they feared two people were dead in a bedroom.

Three children were believed to be hostages of a shotgun-wielding man inside the apartment, a police spokesman said. Police said they were able to rescue four other children when they arrived.

This was "hidden" in the bowels of most papers unlike Iraq casualties of any kind which dominate front page news.
