It is 1932 all over again; the winner in 2004 will set the political agenda for a generation. Republicans are in a position to be the party in power, but they have significant opposition and problems to overcome, mainly the elitist media and leftist academia. This is a watershed period.

Assuming a win, how this power is applied will determine our children’s future. Will we have a flat tax, abortion ban, family friendly media/culture, secure borders and reduced size of government (to name a few)? That is the opportunity; it will be up to us to see this opportunity turned into results.

My view has been for a long while the the Democrats have a dead philosophy (socialism) that everyone knows is headed towards the dustbin. The real argument is between libertarian and conservative thought, both of which hold promise.

But who in their right mind is going to believe the Democrat theory that raising taxes is good for the economy, killing babies is holy, and running from Iraq is in the national interest?

The media problem is now a limited problem due to Fox News cracking the leftist monopoly. Academe is only a weak force in politics.

The biggest danger to Republicans is massive vote fraud fueled by massive illegal immigration. This is costing us several Senate seats (the impact is less in any area smaller than a state).

This, in addition to activist left-wing federal judges, is the trump card of the Left. The enemy still controls the machinery that molds the hearts and minds of youth and reports the news of the day - repeating a subtle and not-so-subtle message that all good things flow from a benevolent socialist state.

Perhaps that's why leftists viciously attack even the slightest attempts to appoint non-leftist judges, reform public school systems, and bring ideological balance to college campuses and the news media. It is on these issues especially that we on the right must give as good as we get: the Marquis of Queensbury rules that we've followed for so long in the political arena no longer apply when we are in a fight for the survival of America as we know it.
