I believe that Laci chose the nautical theme in an attempt to PLEASE Snooty!! Laci was a happy and giving and thoughtful person as described by everyone she knew and her family in particular. Even tho she got seasick and probably didn't like boating, she still attempted to do something that would please her husband. I just wished she had gotten a glimpse into the souless wonder she married. Laci clearly never KNEW the man she married. Sounds familiar, but people like SP (extreme narcissists) don't let others know them. The person they show others is only a mirror of what other people want to see. I don't know that I am explaining it clearly, but they MUST be near people that ADORE / WORSHIP them. It seems, Laci was starting to see through the facade and Amber was still "Adoring" him.
if Laci was decorating Conners room to please Snoot seems it would have been more of a golf theme since his fishing liscense WAS expired
