You don't need to keep an entire hospital open to provide day programs to veterans. How about an outpatient facility?As to the jobs lost....I thought that most people on FR were against government handouts and jobs programs. A job for the sake of a job and not one that was really needed provided at government (say taxpayer) expense. If this was a for profit civilian hospital would be still be open? Not looking at the revenue, but at the occupancy rate? If the answer is that it would be closed then it needs to go.

I support the review and would accept the results. If a public review process had occurred before the announcement of this "decision" landed on this area like a bomb, a political issue needn't have been handed to Hillary on a silver platter.
