I'm thankful for the foresight the engineers in Texas put into isolating our state grid with DC taps which isolate us from this kinda chicanery in the rest of the system.

Robert: Any comments on the use of DC transmission "links" to break up huge loops into more manageable areas? Do DC-to-AC inverters have the phase adjustment capabilities that rotating generators do?
