Mia, I am glad you picked up on Bayh's statement. I think he is the one who gave the memo to Sean, especially because he has been hawkish on the war and defense in general. In addition, I think he wants to run for president in 2008, and stopping Hillary in her tracks would be a handy accomplishment.

As for Ds taking out the clintons, I would be surprised if there weren't multiple coups in the works.
