Sharia: Two Convicts to Be Amputated
OSAC ^ | November 10, 2003 | This Day

Posted on 11/10/2003 6:03:59 AM PST by LurkedLongEnough

All is set for the amputation of the limbs of two men convicted by a Sharia court in Zaria.

The convicts are currently being detained at the Zaria Central Prison.

The Kaduna State Grand Khadi, Dr Maccido Ibrahim, who announced this at a Ramadan fast-breaking ceremony at the palace of the Emir of Zauzzau, Dr Shehu Idris, said the judgment signalled the effective take-off of the Sharia legal code in Kaduna.

He described critics of the Sharia law as ignorant people who are uninformed about the islamic code of jurisprudence.

Although the grand khadi neither gave details of the court that handed down the amputation judgment nor the persons involved, he announced the constitution of a three-member panel of judges to study the judgment of the court. He said the panel would begin sitting this week.

To further guard against any miscarriage of justice, Ibrahim said he had directed the registrar of the Sharia Court to meet with the convicts, for additional information as well as caution them on their right to appeal.

The grand khadi said it was misleading to think that the enforcement of the sharia law in Kaduna was not possible. He explained that "government does not believe in celebrating the punishment of any offender and government does not have to call the press to announce the punishment of an offender for his bad deeds. This would amount to celebrating bad deeds."

He advocated an overhaul of the emirate system in the north, to reflect what the grand khadi described as islamic fundamentals in governance.

Following the bloody riots in Kaduna metropolis and environs in February and May 2000, over the introduction of Sharia Law in the state, government embarked on a number of judicial reforms which led to the formal adoption of sharia and its enforcement in areas dominated by moslems.

Kaduna has an almost equal number of indigenous Christians and Moslems who occupy the southern and northern parts of the state respectively.

Evil and ignorance incarnate. Islam is doomed unless it goes through a total reformation.

For those who think this is only a radical Islam practice:

http://www2.ari.net/gckl/islam/law.htm

The Qur'an is the principal source of Islamic law, the Sharia. It contains the rules by which the Muslim world is governed (or should govern itself) and forms the basis for relations between man and God, between individuals, whether Muslim or non-Muslim, as well as between man and things which are part of creation. The Sharia contains the rules by which a Muslim society is organized and governed, and it provides the means to resolve conflicts among individuals and between the individual and the state.

There is no dispute among Muslims that the Qur'an is the basis of the Sharia and that its specific provisions are to be scrupulously observed. The Hadith and Sunna are complementary sources to the Qur'an and consist of the sayings of the Prophet and accounts of his deeds. The Sunna helps to explain the Qur'an, but it may not be interpreted or applied in any way which is inconsistent with the Qur'an.

I dont think until one from a Christian nation or upbringing witnesses the cruelty of islam
while it proclaims to be enlightenment to the world..

Truly understands the implications of allowing them to build their mosques, islamic centers accross our nation and buying up goodly chunks of US real estate for their islamic 'summer' camps....

Largely thanks to our Saudi loving politicans...who allow them to operate live and influence
here..while greasing their way into power with petro dollars....

Electric shock might work as well. Americans wouldn't complain so much about the punishments.

Or are you making a pun on "amp-" utations?

and if you object to this cult you are claimed as a racist , they recruit in our prisons and teach horrific writings of their prophet mohammed right here in the USA, in their mosques in their schools in all walks of their lives. I believe the devil is in the desert doing his dirty deeds ,the real problem one that we cant fix here in the US is our constitution, by our laws they are allowed to pratice this crap.

On the contrary. Critics are intelligent people who are aware of it and recoil in horror!
