November 10, 2003 -- Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton yesterday slammed the feds' plans to downsize Manhattan's veterans hospital.

Clinton told more than 100 World War II, Vietnam, Gulf and Iraq war vets gathered for brunch at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square that she'll fight to keep the Manhattan VA Hospital on East 23rd Street running at full capacity, despite plans by the Department of Veterans Affairs to move most of its facilities to Brooklyn.

The DFW airport is the same size as manhattan, I would say that for family members or friends to travel to another brough is not an issue if the VA thinks it can better manage health care. The VA is so poorly run and there are many empty rooms in its facilities.

This is not unique to a VA hospital. Hospitals in general kill more people than car accidents. The VA needs better mangement practices.

How dare she try to reduce the quality of the care of our veterans. By keeping the facillity in the higher cost Manhattan, it will drain resources that could be used for care. Not only that, there are probably more veterans living in the outer boroughs than Manhattan. And anyway, travel to and from the facility should not be a problem with the massively subsidized public transportation system in NYC.

Hillary like most dems ...loathes the military...she refered to her own secret service protectors
(men who would have given up their lives to save hers and her familes in a heart beat) as her
"trained pigs"

Beware politicans waving the flag near election day...

As soon as Hitlerly gets her rather ample celulite cratered bootie elected either that VA hosptial's funding will get cut or...

She will turn it into a hospital for welfare cases, vagrants, the homeless, and a Free AIDS hosptial

She and Billy boy had proposed just such a thing back when they were in power...

Good 'ol Hillary - taking every opportunity to make a political issue out of nothing. No shame, no sleaze is too low for her, no siree.
