Kenneth Locklear had no idea when he enrolled his daughter at Roosevelt Middle School in West Palm Beach, Fla., for its math, science and technology magnet program that the school was also the home of the devils.
Locklear was horrified when his daughter showed him a band T-shirt depicting Roosevelt's devil mascot complete with horns, pointy ears and a thick mustache.

I find it amazing, if one wears, says anything Christian then one gets chastised. Yet one can wear, or say anything about satan and nothing happens.

I wonder if Satanists find this offensive?
To: Mikey
No, something does happen. Some parent on a crusade starts threatenning law suits over a mascot.

Yeah, me too! This is obviously a demeaning lampoon of the Prince of Darkness. Satanists should be outraged.

What about the Duke Blue Devils, the New Jersey Devils, the Arizona State Sun Devils, and the Wake Forest Demon Deacons? Mascots have been fiendish characters ever since sports teams have been created. I know a small town in North Dakota has their high school team nicknamed "The Devils", and it is a very conservative Christian town.

He drives a Mazda626. Only 40 to go.
To: Ophiucus
I was thinking of the Underwood logo, not so much the product.
Shoot, if you eliminated deviled eggs from church picnics, you'd wipe out the entire church picnic industry.

"I find it amazing, if one wears, says anything Christian then one gets chastised. Yet one can wear, or say anything about satan and nothing happens."I'm with ya, bro...
OTOH, the 'Apostle Mascot' of the 'South City Saints' charging up and down the sidelines and cheering on the home team with his Bible would indeed cause a furor, eh?

"...I know a small town in North Dakota has their high school team nicknamed "The Devils", and it is a very conservative Christian town." I'm not saying the FEDERAL government should get involved or make them change their name, that's a local matter (in fact the FEDERAL government should keep its nose out of all local matters) . All I'm saying is lets say they decided to call their high school team, 'the Jesus freaks' or something to that effect, and they decided to put a cross on their informs. What do believe would happen?
I'm just pointing out the hypocrisy of those who claim (falsely) that there is a separation of church and state.

This is obviously a demeaning lampoon of the Prince of Darkness And What's more, this Kenneth Lockyear agrees with you
''It is a hideous portrayal of the devil,'' he tells the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

And what about those Catholic high school football teams? You know the headlines, 'Holy Mother Wallops St James', 'Christ the King Demolishes St. Peter', etc.
To: PFC
