A SAUDI official said early Sunday that only one residential compound in Riyadh was bombed Saturday night, denying a US account that three residential complexes were hit by explosions.
"There may have been two or three blasts in the al-Muhaya compound, but there were no explosions in three (different) compounds," the official said, requesting anonymity.
The State Department said Saturday that three residential compounds housing Westerners in the Saudi capital were hit by explosions and gunfire.
"We have initial reports that there were explosions and gunfire at three compounds in Riyadh that house Westerners," State Department spokeswoman Amanda Batt said.

Sat November 8, 2003 08:46 PM ET
RIYADH, Saudi Arabia (Reuters) - A Western diplomat said between 20 and 30 people were estimated to have been killed and up to 100 injured in a suicide bomb attack at a Riyadh housing compound on Sunday.
"We don't have an exact toll and this is initial but our best guess is that between 20 to 30 were killed and 50 to 100 were injured," the Saudi-based senior diplomat told Reuters.

FOX just reported that no Americans were killed in the blast. Prayers go out for the families of those who were killed tonight.

Yes, prayers for the children no matter who they are. Maybe this sort of crime will wake the Saudi leaders up to what they have let in the door.
