They don't name or identify this group. Unfortunately the sex scandal has turned into a multi-sided free-for-all.
In Rockville Center, Long Island, liberal Catholics have been calling for the dismissal of Bishop William F. Murphy, once an assistant to Cdnl Law. Bill Donoghue indicates that he is a good bishop who's being given a bum rap.
In this case, I don't know too much about it, but I suspect that dissident Catholics are trying to use a bad bishop to gain control of the diocese. Frankly, the bishops deserve some of this for not disciplining these dissident priests much earlier.
But faithful Protestants and other conservatives as well as Catholics have a dog in this fight. It's to their advantage that the Catholic Church in America should not be taken over by the dissidents, or they will lose a valuable ally.

McCormick and Law should both be in jail. Law is STILL a Cardinal, all he did was resign as the Archbihop of Boston. McCormick was his right hand man in re-locating scums like Shanley the pedophile, and Nambla member.

"a good bishop who's being given a bum rap." Those bishops are so kinky.

Jim Farrell, a member of the group... You are right. Mr. Farrell is a long-time member of "Voice of the Faithful" and they are the group that this article refers to. Take a look at post #5... the priest who just left the diocese in a huff was the first priest to encourage and aid this group in his parish. VOTF is all about the power.
Nevertheless, McCormack should step down given his history in the whole scandal.
