State Department sources told The Washington Post that John Kokal (search) worked in a unit that dealt with intelligence and research. Sources said he handled classified documents regularly but was not involved in intelligence analysis.

Sounds like hair-splitting to me. Maybe not an analyst per se, but if he works in the Bureau of Intelligence and Research and regularly handles classified documents, he wasn't the copy machine repairman. According to the State Dept.'s personnel directory, Kokal was in the Near East Southeast Asia unit.
