They are worried about legislation that would allow the broacasters to buy up as many outlets as possible. They need the President and the republicans on their side for this.

They need not have worried too much, after all McCain would always vote for Viacom.......he took campaign donations from them.

I don't believe it. Under the old regulations a single company could own TV stations that reached 35% of the public. The new regulation would increase that to 45%. BUT:

Under the old regulation, CBS was grandfathered in with 42%.
