I'll settle for the Red River

My dad's only dying request was that I not marry anyone from north of the Red River.

PS: my own advice is that you should never eat Mexican food north of the Red River (unless it's an absolute emergency).

I'm not planning to go north of the Red River, not even for the new Casino. Although I did spend a couple of weeks in Fletcher Okla when I was younger.

Nor chili. Nor barbecue.

You can still get a good chicken-fried steak as far north as Fairview, Oklahoma, though.

I found a good place in Midwest City Oklahoma. Run and staffed by hispanics of course, some Tejanos but mostly Mexicans and some from farther south. Since some spoke little English, I got to practice my little Spanish, with the most important phrase anyone can know in a foreign language. "Donde esta el bano" :)
