It's pretty hard to carry 180lbs of stuff in a briefcase. Not to mention setting off every radiation detector around.
A hoax seems more likely.

Based on our border security, they could smuggle 18,000 lbs across either our northern, southern or coastal borders.

True.
Hoping its a hoax.
Then again,on sept 10th i would have believed planes hijacked into the twin towers and pentagon were tin foil paranoia.
I learned never to say never then.
One good thing, if its true we are alert for it now.
It could even be a diversion.
We know they want to hit us back and they are trying.
I trust Delta Force or someone is on it if true.
If its a hoax Freepers will expose it soon if the past is any indication.

That's a good point. But what about in small bricks? It's my understanding these things are not all bundled up into 180 pounds. But then again, you still would need something to create the explosion, which would have to be rather large, and identifiable. Either way I don't think their plan would succeed. Remember, this is an organization that is desperate. I mean, really desperate. But then again, they are the master of covert operations and have already done it once. I wouldn't want to think of the ramifications if they succeeded again. Although I find that rather unlikely. BTW, have you heard from Osama lately?

Maybe what they are really talking about is one pound of radioactive material and 179 lbs of shielding.
