These days it would be foolish to not have some water and food rat holed.
We still have some from y2k that wont expire for another decade.
But if a whole neighborhood or city is hungry or thirsty bullets may prove more valuable.
OR Faith...a tank full of gas might prove useful.
Fear is never the answer, nor is denial.
I pray the Good Lord and our Soliders continue to protect us from these demonic murderers.

there are only detectors at fixed border crossings: roads, bridges, etc. crossing from canada into the US by boat across the lakes would not trip any of those. it would have to be picked up by satellite. i can't imagine that placing it in a lined container would be that hard.

Although El Shukrijumah does not have a pilot's license listed with the Federal Aviation Administration, authorities are concerned that he may be a trained pilot. Documents retrieved overseas linked one of his aliases to a flight school in Norman, Okla., where terror suspect Zacarias Moussaoui also received flight training.

I wouldn't want to flame you, I hit the link to check it out, hoping this was more paranoia, but the word of someone called 'Mamdouh Shoukri' doesn't reassure me very much.

I think the dude is from India.

You're probably right. I would like to think we have satellites tracking radioactive material, but I can't verify this. If we don't, I suggest NASA develop one. But then again, it would have a hard time passing Senate as Dems would attempt to block funding.

"PS: my own advice is that you should never eat Mexican food north of the Red River (unless it's an absolute emergency)."

Nor chili. Nor barbecue.

You can still get a good chicken-fried steak as far north as Fairview, Oklahoma, though.

Maybe I should be embarrassed, but I have actually zero idea what that may be a reference to.

Wow. Then, I wanna work where you work! It's the deal you have to let employees go through for psycho-therapy, marriage counseling, drug or alcohol treatment, etc., before you can fire them or INSTEAD of firing them.

Registered nuclear shipments are tracked by satellite. Of course, so are regular shipments of non nuclear material and rental cars (so you can be charged extra for crossing state lines.) All other cars will be soon.

Still, 180lbs of nuclear material may need more than 180lbs of shielding.

Authorities also are investigating El Shukrijumah's possible ties to Imran
Mandhai, a Florida college student convicted in a bombing conspiracy, and
convicted "shoe-bomber" Richard C. Reid.

"If any nuclear explosions occur in the U.S. as a result of this, I vote for returning some of our nuclear material on Riyadh, Meccah, and Medina:"

Let's go to the real source of the problem... Quebec.

You may or may not know the answer to my question: what are those smoke lines at the left of the picture? I always wondered what they were since I first saw those blasts as a kid.

Smoke trails. They fired missiles right before the blast to make them so they could see how they moved to calibrate the shock wave models.

I appreciate your post. Based on reading this over, this fuss is centered around one or two unverified emails. Furthur, the U.S. Gov't, which is monitoring communications world-wide, has not raised the threat-assessment over this. In fact, it has been raised for things less in this nature. I think if they were trully concerned, the threat assessment would be raised one or two fold by now. Again, I think this is centered around Al Quaeda types hawking and squawking about the fact that they are readily losing power throughout the world, and will soon be diminished.
