a friend of mine authored an article against euthanasia about 15 years ago...he was shocked at one doctor who wrote him. the doctor was in charge of a nursing home, and it discussed how he could decide which of his patients that should be killed...
No one wants to live dependently but if life is from God, then how can we judge to kill others because we see their life as "life unworthy of life".
The arguments are that this is due to "modern Medicine"...but if you read history, the same arguments were discussed in Osler's time (turn of the century) in the US---they even had an early silent film called "oslerizing grandpa" which was a satire...and of course, the German books discussing euthanasia written in the 1920's gave the intellectual basis for the Nazi T4 project...
Indeed, there is a discussion in Plato complaining that doctors can't cure people so these people just keep living when sick, the implication that the doctors should either cure them or kill them...

Faced with the opportunity to simply ban the late-term procedure that murders nearly-born and viable babies moments before their birth, they muddied the waters by expanding the prohibition to all second-trimester abortions, perhaps even when the mother's health may be at risk. Liar.

"When is a Life Worth Living?" By Joe Klock, Sr.Perhaps an unintentional reference by the author to Lebensunwertes Leben?
