"The problem here is that she's blaming to wrong people for all the media attention. It's not the pentagon's fault, it's the media and her family's fault."

Face the facts, the Pentagon had the film rolling and the special effects sparkling, (the Marines firing into the night at nothing). They gave the media the film footage of the "rescue", replete with a staged "battle" of tracers slicing through the night air. I am a STAUNCH conservative and Bush supporter, but for chrisakes give this girl some credit for telling the truth.

Well, without the last sentence, that paragraph sounds like it came straight from DU.

Oh, I see. So not only was it staged, but the "Marines" were stupid enough to draw attention to themselves by firing at nothing? It's amazing anyone made it out of there alive.

The video released to the press of her rescue was not complete, just brief highlights. I don't recall seeing any video of the operation from start to finish. Missing is their entrance into the building, their initial finding of Lynch, getting her on the stretcher, etc. The part that was shown on the news channels was a small segment of what actually occurred. I think she'd have more of a complaint if the Army had released the total recovery of her. I think she's whining unnecessarily.

I'm wondering how you know the "Marines" knew in advance that there was "nothing." As to the "tracer show," It would be normal in such a situation to set up diversionary fire. Probably incompetent NOT to do it.

Thanks for remaining a civilian. You may have saved the lives of many of our troops by your choice.
