I've seen intellegent people who's brain didn't work at times. A failure to focus on the task at hand does not imply stupidity. A persistent failure to do so is strongly suggestive of it.

Glad to see you admit you shouldn't have said what you said then.

Closer tolerances than what?

Than other guns! What do you think? lol

The fitting of the firing pin is tight enough that no sand and dust would build up in the spacing to cause binding. Once cocked and loaded there are no other mechanisms that could get stuck resulting in a failure to fire. If a light hammer blow(dust) resulted in a misfire, it could be immediately cleared. Unless the owner allowed the inside of the reciever to fill with a significant amout of sand and/or dust, the shooter could clear it with one, or a few manual cycles.

Blah, blah, blah. All I know is that those with as much experience as you with these guns said they can indeed jam before firing and they said it was because of closer tolerances than say, an AK47. Discussions about pins mean nothing to me, we didn't go that deep.

That could be, but this is the NY Daily News. Are they the liberal media?

Yep. The New York Post and the Wall Street Journal are the only two good papers in New York (and the Wall Street Journal does have liberal reporters, but their editorial page isn't bad).

They said she, "angrily accused the pentagon of using her for propaganda."

They lied. She said she was "hurt". But that could mean anything, she could be hurt because of all the hate directed toward her by people like you who are using this stuff to bash her.

"Glad to see you admit you shouldn't have said what you said then.

You didn't comprehend all that was said. I meant what I said first and stick by it. Elaboration is not retraction.

"Than other guns! What do you think? lol... Discussions about pins mean nothing to me, we didn't go that deep.

Yet you argue with someone who knows and gives you facts.

" They lied. She said she was "hurt".

The Army bolsters the image of it's members by speeking positively about them and assuming the actions of it's members were in accord with the highest traditions and honor. It's good for morale. The Army doesn't respond with what may in fact be more truthful initial assesments of incidents such as this one. It's seems PFC Lynch would have prefered that. Had they done so, she'd still be shooting off her mouth about something else.

She PFC Lynch isn't focusing on America's intrest in ridding the region of Iraq of criminal ops and terrorists. Her focus is not on the interests of the US military and it's members performing the cleansing of the region. Her focus is on PFC Lynch and whatever mental wanderings are going on at the time she opens her mouth.

She second guessed the reason they filmed her rescue and got it wrong. The Army does what it can to rescue it's POWs. Not only does the filming and written record of that op serve for training purposes. It serves as a morale booster for both the armed services and the American public, in the face of leftist detractors. So it can be viewed as propaganda, but to focus on that empty statement alone is really shameful.
