I can't say that I have pangs of sympathy for the Petersons. I'm not sure what to call the feelings. It's more that I can't imagine what they are going through. You know, you raise your kids the best you can (not that they did) but what do you do if your child as an adult does something *horrendous*? Those are the feelings I'm curious about. Surely you can't stop loving your child? But what do you do? They HAVE to know by now that things don't look good for Scott. Do you think they are so delusional that they truly think he's innocent? I don't know anymore.

I'd like to think if I was in this situation, I would tell Scott to fess up, confess and take the punishment for what he did. BUT, could you really do that?

I do expect the Petersons, Jackie in particular to begin to blame Laci for this. It's almost like you can smell it coming. Everything they've done is despicable including not letting the Rochas into the house. Trying to get their son off of a murder charge is despicable, but what would you do? Would you re-mortgage your house and spend your life savings to protect your child from the death penalty? Like I said I just can't (and don't want to) imagine what life is like for them.

You bring up some good points Vel. If you ever listen to Ted Rowlands whom the Peterson's seem to talk with often. He continues to state that ALL of the Peterson family are 100% ABSOLUTELY sure that Scott is innocent and will be proven so. I, like you, cannot believe they are not having any doubts by now. As to what I would do if it were MY son. I can't obviously say for sure but I do KNOW that I would seriously question him and ask for an absolutely honest answer. Then, I would tell him, if he confessed, to attempt to make a deal. Deliberately taking the life of your PREGNANT WIFE in a manner so brutal just has to be punished, regarless of the blood ties. Those two murdered people whom they professed to love were their Daughter-in-law and their grandson!!
