Bronze star isn't a big deal in combat. Remember, the lady WAS IN COMBAT, bullets flying around her. Nobody has put her up for a Silver Star or a Medal of Honor. She is a severly wounded vet.
She is a personable and honest young lady, and I am glad that she is getting the good press. More power to her. America need more kids like her.

Maybe that's why she apparently was the only one raped, because she was unconscious and wouldn't put up a fight.

I watched or listened to every early morning press briefing from Doha by that extremely professional General Briggs. He never said anything even close to this Washington Post story.
I also agree that Pvt. Lynch is a class act and she is very lucky to be alive, and I'm glad she is telling the truth, but I never heard a single military spokesman ever describe her capture as a wild firefight or a scene from a Rambo movie. The Press blew this out of proportion and they should take the blame, not Jessica Lynch nor the Military

Oh I believe it, and I mean no disrespect to PVT Lynch. I'd have been lucky to not mess me drawers.

Right. It wasn't the armorers fault (isn't that what I said?).

I recommend bourbon for most afflictions of the mind...fatigue, unease, restlessness, dementia, sobriety...

the media that blew this all out of shapeThe liberal media has about as much good sense as a chicken running around after its head is cut off.
There are decent people actually mad at this girl because they attribute to HER the lying brouhaha the media created.

"No, I went down praying on my knees," she replied." Better, very cool.

You're right, the military briefers played the story straight, I'm sure it was some political appointee who leaked (or rather made up) the Rambo story.
I'm glad that Pvt. Lynch had the choice of whether to reveal the rape details instead of having it released by the military. God bless her, I hope she's able to walk down the aisle withouth those crutches.

What kind of gun? Did sand gum it up?M16A2. Eugene Stoner's Mattel rifle needs constant maintenance and upkeep, particularly in sandy environments.

Poor kid, the bastards sodomised her while she was unconscious according to news reports I heard today. And what about the bastards who allowed this poor kid to be in a combat zone in the first place?
Since time immemorial, men have gone to war to fight for their women and children.
It is a sick culture when "men" send women to war to fight for them.
Unless our Commander in Chief takes a stand against this madness, I fear for the future of our free republic.

Every company has an armorer that is responsible for maintaining weapons.Basic maintenance--i.e., keeping the damn thing clean and properly lubricated--is done by the soldier carrying the weapon, not the armorer.

I never heard a single military spokesman ever describe her capture as a wild firefight or a scene from a Rambo movieMe neither. And that's because no military spokesman ever did.
IIRC, it was the WaPo that published the first hyped-up piece on Lynch, and it was based on their "sources."
