[history]
Sky watchers scrutinized Mars during its closest approach to Earth in 60,000 years this summer and were awed by red and green aurora displays as far south as Florida thanks to big explosions on the sun in recent weeks.
And now more heavenly happenings are on the way.

The first time I saw the Milky Way was on a recent visit to the Grand Canyon. We stayed until sundown to watch the sun set over the canyon. Walking away, I told her too look up. Heck, we saw some "shooting stars", too, just by looking for a while. It's amazing how much is lost to light "polution". I'm in a particularly bad place at the moment. Our skys are often pink at midnight except in the winter when the air is very dry and clear.

Joel 2:30
And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.
Joel 2:31
The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.
I wonder if Pillars of Smoke are what I think I think they might be?

Thanks for the flag. If the jihadis have any special motivation right now, I think it's from the rare, once-in-a-few-lifetimes double eclipse, rather than the color of the Moon. A few interesting keyword links: RAMADANDOUBLEECLIPSE, RAMADAN2003, and SOLARFLARE2003.

Yes Rev 6 - sixth seal. Appears to follow or coincide with a great earthquake. Also follows a time of great persecution of Christians.
Rev6:9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: 10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? 11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled. 12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; 13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. 14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. 15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; 16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: 17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

I wonder if that could refer to the darkness at Jesus's death.

Totality will be 4 PM here, Alaska, which is 2 hours before the moon rises. It will be dark enough by 5 PM, but it looks like it will be over by 6 PM. Right?

Joe 2:31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.
Act 2:20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:
Rev 6:12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;

Are you referring to perhaps, "towers" of smoke??

The latest CME was not directed point blank at the Earth,so we only got the periphery of radiation (which was largely X-RAYS this time). What only a few have mentioned is that had it been a 'clean shot', the results would have been much more harmful.
I guess no one wants to alarm the general public.
BUT, here's something that concerns me. The sunspots that gave us CME's last week (486 and 487) will be coming back around soon.
What happens if we get the eclipse and another solar outburst which is directly aimed at Earth?

I wonder if that could refer to the darkness at Jesus's death. No, no read the Book of Joel, you'll see. It's a quick read, too.
