I care.
Because I know that the Republican stands a chance of being a lot better than the Liberal who would be there in his place. A moderate Conservative is a lot easier to deal with than a Liberal Democrat. Keeping Liberals out of office is a good first step.

I'm sure it will come as a shock to you, as well, that an honest-to-God pro-choicer is our Secretary of State. He even supports affirmative action. Another two pro-choicers heading up Homeland Security and the NSA. Bush even has a gay person or two on his staff. It's too bad that Alan Keyes or Gary Bauer weren't nominated in 2000. Then we'd just have Gore's nominees to bitch about.

You know what? It IS a new Republican party. It is a Republican party that WINS ELECTIONS.
Right on! Saundra should deal with it, or seek her mountaintop.

In a span of less than 30 days, the GOP has captured the governorships of CA, MS, and KY.

Brown is a reasonable person who happens to be a liberal. He said from the start that Davis needed a miracle to beat the recall. He's not like Terry McAwful. He's someone you can have a conversation with-- ask questions about the nuts and bolts. That's why he was on the transition team. He knows about the process.

It is a new Republican party? I was hoping we were just settling for these pretend Republicans until the real thing came along. Great...I better move to that mountaintop, oh wait I already did that.

I notice nobody is talking about Marybel. Marybel was White House Coordinator for DoD for Weinberger and Frank Carlucci from the beginning of the Reagan years. Does that make her a conservative?? Nope.
I saw this up close.
Way back then, we Reaganites were shocked, flabbergasted that she would wind up in such a role perhaps low key, but pivotal in placing key appointments at DoD. She was pivotal in appointments and you may guess which way she leaned. That goes way back to the early '80's.
Wonder if Marybel has changed..........

No, it's true. And unless you renounce the GOP and become a True Conservative(TM), you'll grow horns.
To: MontanaBeth
It is a new Republican party?I say it is! Other people will say other things, but I say this is it. Not the face of elitism and intolerance, but of inclusion and respect. Its the path to victory, and after victory we can affect change. This is evolution in progress.

We can afford to wait. The Gropinator is going to be governor come November 17, whether or not we complain.
Upon taking office, governed by his dedication to abortion, gay marriage, gun control, spending hikes (for the children, for the children), public miseducation, the social revolutionary agendas of his best-known dead photographer, and tax hikes, his Gropinatorship will give us plenty of opportunity to impose upon his sycophants to repent at leisure.
I am breaking my own self-imposed post-election silence on the matter just this once before that sensible 100 days expires (good idea, Burkeman1). I might do so again or not as I see fit. After all, that is up to me, but I am inclined to go along with a 100 days rope for Ahhhhhnold. He ought to be measured not against Grayout but against objective standards, however. He is certainly not one of us as a Republican o a conservative
