Thank you...I couldn't let it rest and the thoughts rolling around in my mind over this not be aired.
Colonel West continues in the best tradition of American fighting men and combat leaders. He needs to be recognized as such IMHO.

Thank you!
Everyone needs to put this man and his family in their prayers!!!
Amen to that...please pass the links to both of these threads on to your friends and relatives and ask them to pray, email, fax, phone and let their representatves and others know.

It would be just like those slime-buckets to figure some angle like that to attack this good man.

Like Adam West three mps from Pa will be charged tomorrow for protecting themselves when Iraq prisoners were trying to escape and it is claimed the MPs kicked and punched them. Trial in sand country so the prisoners can TESTIFY.
Dear God watch over our military people.

Iraq prisoners were trying to escape and it is claimed the MPs kicked and punched them Tell me it isn;t so.
They are bringing them up on charges for THAT?
They must have done some serious kickin' and punchin'...but what are they supposed to do when prisoners are escaping? Particularly if they are enemy combatant prisoners who would like nothing more than to get to a weapon and kill you?

Roger that!

An article on Drudge reports that four MPs to be charged tomorrow. www.leader.net reports the rest of the story
in letters from the one female to be charged.
To: battleax
This is political correctness gone crazy. Chief Moose is on active duty now, I believe. This sounds like something right up his alley. Protect the 'innocent' enemy combatants!!! for sure
Their testimony will be truthful and sincere! NOT!

What can we do to help Colonel West now? If each of us calls the White House, our Senators, and Representative, it would help. If they get enough calls they will apply lots of pressure to the Pentagon.

Maybe in todays Army 'perserving the lives of your men' ain't in your job description. If so, I sincerely weep for the lives of the poor bastards in your platoon. Be most certainly advised that in my Army, accomplishing the mission, despite what may be a terrible cost, while striving to the utmost to preserve the lives of those under the unit leadership even at the cost of their own lives...or careers.
If the army is becoming something else wherein blind obedience to political dictates takes priority, I think I'd prefer to continue my soldiering with your Corps. But in any event, there won't be a United States Army or United States of America much longer if that's the case. It won't be worth preserving, protecting or defending. And count on the same Quislings to attempt to subvert or abolish your Corps as well, sir.

Colonel West should be nominated for the Congressional Medal of Honor, not persecuted by the effeminant boobs running this war. No. That is given for valorous conduct at great personal risk under the fire of the enemy, not for actions such as LTC West's against an unarmed prisoner, but one still a threat to the lives of the colonel's men by virtue of his knowledge.
The decoration for which LTC West should be nominated is the Soldiers Medal, given for attempts to save the lives of others, often at risk to one's own.

You have never served in combat or you would never make such a statement. Colonel West did his duty and did it in a manner we all can be proud of. Had it been me, I would have had the spy executed after his confession!!

People like you have made that assumption incorrectly about me before.
You assume that because I don't jump on the LTC West for Congress, MOH, Soldiers Medal, Hero worship, etc. bandwagon that I'm some kind of px ranger. I'd laugh, if it wasn't so stupid. I think I'd be right here to just continue pounding on your
dumb@$$ statement, but I can see by your screen name that you're disabled and obviously proud of it. I wonder if you've ever done anything else in your life?
Had you executed the "spy" then you would be on trial for murder, and you would deserve it.

Jeff:
This was a great letter. I urge everyone to send an email to the president to ask for leniency in the Colonel West issue. This man must be allowed to leave the military honorably with full retention of all awards, medals, and all retirement benefits.
