It is amazing as the inspectors, the Brits, and the CIA thought they did because Saddam would not show what happened to them.

Of course, the Brits and the CIA. Still looking for uranium in Africa too...And half the inspectors couldn't come to a consensus on what the Iraqis had. But you hold on to that vial of botulism in the refrigerator okay? Probably not enough to have fit into 30,000 munitions but at least the US government will be able to say it got something for that 87 billion dollars

Meanwhile the terrorists in Saudi Arabia, our 'ally', are living it up and 'escaping' from Saudi police daily

And half the inspectors couldn't come to a consensus on what the Iraqis had.

I take you mean aside from tons of yellowcake at Tubwaitha, and other stores and precusors the Iraqis admitted (under pressure) to having and refused to document the destruction of?

And certainly the uncertainty wouldn't be because Saddam refused to comply with his terms of surrender and U.S. supported U.N. resolutions demanding full disclosure of WMD weapons programs, would it? But we shoulda just backed down, right? It's not like this woulda been a sign of weakness and a clarion signal to terrorists to redouble their attacks against civilians in the United States.

No, we coulda continued the "containment" regime for another ten years at the cost of tens of billions of dollars a year, and/or have kept a couple hundred thousand American soldiers sitting in tents in Kuwait for another year or so.

I know one paid agent that will be filed in the memory hole, again. Dennis Mahon, was paid thousands of dollars, according to Tim McVeigh's attorney, to protest against the first Gulf War.

No one was interested in this angle, of course, because Mahon was cozy with a gubmint snitch, Andres Strassmeir, who was in the United States spying on neo-Nazi types at Elohim City. Oh yeah, Tim McVeigh gave "Andy the German" a phone call the week of the April 5, 1995.

No one will want to open that can of worms. This story will disappear within the week.
